Professional Basketball Has RETURNED to ST.LOUIS!!!!!!!
The St.Louis Pioneers ABA Basketball team will begin play in the prestigious ABA Basketball League in the 2010-2011 season.
The Pioneer Basketball Ownership Group presents the St.Louis Pioneers as the new Pro basketball team in the city of St.Louis. The first pro basketball team ever to play in St.Louis were the St.Louis Hawks, which lasted from 1955-1968 and then moved to Atlanta, now the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA. A couple of years flew by and the ABA was formed and the Spirits of St.Louis were the new pro basketball team for St.Louis at the time. The ABA folded and the Spirits did not manage to merge with the NBA and sold for 2.2 million. Now, Pro basketball is back in ST.Louis and is here stay. The city of Saint Louis "PIONEERED" pro basketball in existence and Pioneer Ownership will see that the city of St.Louis keeps Pro Basketball here.Red, white, and blue are the original colors of the old STL Hawks and the St.Louis Pioneers will use these colors and flamboyant style of the Spirits to "Bring Back the Essence" of pro basketball and also connect with the other professional sport entities of St.Louis, i.e., the St.Louis Cardinals, Rams, and Blues. The team is operated by The Pioneer Basketball Ownership Group and owned by James E. Graham. The St.Louis Pioneers where announced as an expansion team on June 6, 2010 and is scheduled to begin season play in December 2010.
The Pioneers will look to help fans revisit some of those great memories of the Past.. What was once old is new again as we bring PROFESSIONAL Basketball back to ST.Louis to STAY!!!!!!!!!
